Mandatory Vehicle Safety Inspection Checklist

Before your first delivery shift, your vehicle must be inspected and cleared by a store manager or designated team leader. Prepare by verifying each item below.

Headlights (high and low beam)
Taillights and brake lights
Turn signals (front and rear)
Backup (reverse) lights
Windshield wipers (front and rear)
Horn
Tire tread depth and pressure
Rear-view and side mirrors
Seat belts (driver and passenger)
Door functionality (open/close/latch)
Exhaust system (no excessive emissions)
Brake pedal pressure and response

A failed inspection item doesn't mean automatic rejection — you may be given time to repair and re-inspect. However, you cannot begin deliveries until cleared.

What Does a Domino's Driver Actually Do?

Route Navigation

Drivers use their own mobile devices (GPS navigation) to navigate single and multi-stop deliveries. During peak hours, a driver may complete 4–8 deliveries per hour.

Customer Interaction

Drivers represent the brand at the final touchpoint. Professional presentation, courtesy, and accurate change handling are expected on every doorstep interaction.

Adverse Weather Compliance

Drivers are expected to assess road conditions and can refuse deliveries if conditions are genuinely unsafe. Store managers are the final authority on weather-related stop decisions.

Vehicle Maintenance Responsibility

Drivers are responsible for maintaining their own vehicle between formal inspections. Fuel and maintenance costs are offset by mileage reimbursement paid by the store.

Driver FAQ

Can I deliver for Domino's with a speeding ticket?
One speeding ticket in the past 2 years may still qualify you, as the limit is 1 violation + 1 at-fault accident in 2 years. However, 2 or more violations in 2 years — or more than 3 total violations in 3 years — will disqualify you. The exact evaluation depends on the nature of each violation.
Does Domino's check your driving record?
Yes. All delivery driver candidates are subject to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. Domino's uses a third-party background screening company to pull this record. The check covers at minimum 3 years of driving history, and in some cases up to 5 years for serious infractions.
Can I use any vehicle to deliver for Domino's?
Your vehicle must pass the standard Domino's safety inspection conducted by the store manager or designated staff. It must be roadworthy, properly registered, and carry adequate auto insurance including delivery endorsement coverage (in most states). Motorcycles and bicycles may be accepted in some markets.
What insurance do I need to deliver for Domino's?
You must carry personal auto insurance that meets your state's minimum liability requirements. Many personal policies exclude commercial delivery activity — you should contact your insurer about adding a delivery endorsement or rider. Some franchise operators require proof of this coverage before your first shift.
Can I deliver for Domino's at 17?
No. The minimum age for delivery driver positions at Domino's is 18 years old, with at least 2 full years of licensed driving history. A 17-year-old with a license cannot meet the 2-year history requirement regardless of state.
